Weekend Packages

Day 1:
Equine Health & Emergency 1st- Aid (Level 1) $169.00

Sometimes we split this class over two evenings or we teach it in one day. In either case, we spoil you with a full day's worth of instruction! You’ll discover the three C’s while you join us for 8 hours of pure fun and learning as we de-myth: what your vet needs to know when you make that call; how to condition your horse to accept treatment; the proper way to measure vital signs; dealing with lacerations, punctures, colic, choke, collapse, casting, shock, and hoof issues; recognizing pain in the horse and identifying the pain source; proper saddle fit for spinal health; injury prevention, and so much more! All attendees receive a certificate of completion and a Basic First Aid manual.

Day 2:
Advanced Equine Emergency 1st-Aid (Level 2) $169.00

More great stuff for you to pile in your toolbox! Plan and Prepare. React, when you need to for the most extreme situations! From trapped horses to poison, burns to bites, hypothermia to tie-ups, fractures to sucking chest wounds. Handle the serious injuries, increasing the chance of survival; where without intervention, the horse would not have survived.

Which Track will you choose?...

Remote/Wilderness Track:
This track is intended for both Western, or English-style, riders who enjoy riding outdoors, trail riding, back country riding, camping, or living three, or more, hours from vet care. We'll cover tips on how to plan a safe ride, mapping it out, knowing what to pack, noxious plants and weeds to steer clear of, communication methods to use in remote areas, and using the environment around you to use as first aid tools.
Local/Competitive Track:
Intended for those riding competitively in the arena environment, who may be traveling to shows, competitions, etc. and are NOT far from vet care. We cover common injuries seen in stalled horses and around the arena environment, as well as
biosecurity information including diseases, symptom identification, what protocols exist, transmission, prevention and reporting requirements, as well as field triage of acute neurological disease/issues.

Day 3:
Disaster Planning & Emergency Preparedness $169.

We can help you help your animals. Though we cover “typical vs. panicked” equine behavior in different types of disasters, this course is suitable for any livestock operation, not just horses, and is supported by some insurance industries. This course has no pre-requisite and is a MUST for any livestock owner! We will cover fire prevention; planning for, and executing, safe evacuation procedures, including determining an evacuation site; the hidden dangers/things to consider; responding to first aid emergencies, including consideration of transportation routes, staying onsite, the 72-hour plan (and how to extend that plan), and being prepared for outages. What do you do in a natural disaster such as flooding, wild fires, ice storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, and more? We'll teach you! Don't be unprepared!
